Tubulu

When we first visited Manyara Ranch School, right away we saw a dormitory that was burned out from a fire. We asked about that and when it was going to be repaired. The answer—no funds. A well was no longer working due to a burned out pump. No funds. Mattresses were so worn out—no funds. Children sat on the floor in classrooms of 100+ students. Desks?? No funds. So with the $23,000 that we had raised we rebuilt the dormitory, repaired the bunkbeds, bought 86 new mattresses and 100 new desks. We then realized that this was the tip of the iceberg! So so much still to do. This is why we're asking for your help.

The little boy Tubulu wanted so badly to go to school, but his father said no. He was needed to herd the goats. Tubulu begged and was beaten. One night his sister told him to leave the village and go to Manyara Ranch school. It took him many days of walking from his village to Manyara - 158 miles, alone, through land filled with wildlife, and made it to the school.Tubulu was 11 years old when he arrived in January 2024. In 1 1/2 years he has gone from no education to the top of his class, and is number 5 of 106 fourth graders!

Six boys, 10-13 yrs. old, also arrived at the school this past January. They left their village and their lives as goat herders, walked 20 miles to Manyara Ranch School, told the headmaster that they wanted to go to school, were taken in and are now thriving at school.(Pictures included in their Maasai traditional clothing). Just a few of the many stories!!
